Porting OpenBSD to the Solbourne S4000

Hardware Details

The Solbourne Shack does not provide much information on the actual components found on the S4000 motherboard. They are:

The infamous Panasonic KAP processor. Mine has the M2C5 mask, which means most of the hardware bugs have been fixed.
The SCSI controller is the SBIC WD33C93A. This is a very popular SCSI controller among Unix workstations, which you can find, for example, on the SGI Indy and Indigo2 machines.
The on-board ethernet is the ubiquitous AMD LANCE (7990).
The serial ports are driven by two Zilog ZSCC (Z8530) chips. However, the Solbourne keyboard is not compatible with the Sun one, and uses different scan codes as well, since it is an AT-compatible keyboard with extra L and R sets of keys.
The audio chip is the simple AMD 7930, also encountered on SPARCstation 1 and similar machines.
The floppy drive being reported to be the same as on SPARCstation 1, the floppy controller must be 82072 compatible.
And this machine had an sga20 SBus frame buffer, based upon a Solbourne-specific engine, and a Bt458 RAMDAC. This frame buffer will not work correctly in a Sun machine - not only will the PROM not be able to operate it, but it will also prevent the machine from booting without manual intervention.

Note that the floppy driver does not appear in the device tree. Of course, OS/MP correctly probes it:
